Q&A; with Roy Kuroyanagi

1. Please give a brief description of your business and services provided.
We are a clothing brand that collaborates Japanese culture and Los Angeles lifestyle through unique and clever designs. Our products are designed and screen printed in Los Angeles.

2. How did you get started?
I've always wanted to express my culture and roots through clever designs. One night I came up with the name Japangeles, and a few months later we were selling out of our first two designs at local events.

3. Why is Downtown LA, Little Tokyo, and the Arts District community important to you?
DTLA, LT, and the Arts District community is edgy, diverse and trend-setting. They're also full of history and culture.

4. As an entrepreneur / business owner, what advice can you give for success to our entrepreneurs?
Make sure you have a passion for what you're doing. Be self-motivated and have a lot of discipline. It might sound cliche but they're true!

5. Name one thing interesting / quirky about you and/or your business.
We are proud to say that we are the one and only kiosk in Japanese Village Plaza in Little Tokyo!
